Insulating myself

At Dana's urging I've got an insulation estimator coming tomorrow. According to Dr Internet our insulation is about what it should be. No real surprise to me. I think the house was well constructed. But needless to say I think this summer is what it will be like every year from now on. Or worse. So spending $1500 or so on a higher R value seems smart. I'm sure the company I called to come inspect will think it is brilliant.

Playing PB this morning I guess I must have overheated. I drank about 60 oz of water and Gatorade and felt OK but was tired. So I left and came home and drank and ate and showered and had a nap and all is well.

I'm dropping, at least this week, my wednesday game. I've been playing monday, wednesday, friday and saturday so I'm going to drop the mid week one and see how that goes. According to Fitbit I should not have been tired today but it was a cloudless morning with no wind.

As I was writing the above I smelled something burning. Just as I decided to get up and see what it was my wrist felt hot and I realized my magnetic metal watch band was in contact with the Fitbit charger and my wrist was getting really hot. I basically created an electric stove with my watch band. Could not get it off my wrist fast enough. Fortunately we have some aloe and the burn is not much more than a sunburn.

The charger is a loss (replacement will be here Wednesday). I'd be afraid to use it on my watch now for fear of shorting out the watch.

What a weird thing to happen. The new charger is a stand that won't be lying on the desktop next to my keyboard. I'll have to find another way to screw it up now. Or maybe just skip that altogether.
