Nearly all are given the names by their owners who typically end up abandoning them because of age. The owner's age not the dog's age.

A few have been rescued on the side of the road so the staff of the Ranch come up with the names in that case.

I think I was wrong about this husky's name. I think his name is Kato, not Kayla. Kayla is a she and it's a different husky. They have about five huskies and I tend to get them confused.
