In the local reserve where I sometimes walk, all the people over maybe 35 say hello. The young ones look frightened that there is a human that's not on a screen and refuse to catch your eye.

I've been to Raffles for the afternoon tea, although that must have been post-Disneyfication and I had better ones elsewhere in Singapore. I wasn't about to spend $35 on a Singapore Sling, and fortunately Singapore Airlines served me one instead. The hotel though was beautiful, so light and airy. So cool you actually got to stay there, and at the best time.
