PB day
I've got a thing today, Grinchball. It is a Pickleball mixer which is a way to play without being too competitive. You don't bring a partner and the person who you are playing with changes every game. They keep track of who wins so over time there are a couple of people who rise to the top regardless of who they play with so there are prizes and therefore some competition. But it is way more relaxed than a tournament.
The upshot is that each person plays six matches. The matches are to 11 and the scoring is like ping pong or volleyball. Only the server can score and you have to win by two. Each game generally lasts 15-20 minutes.
I know half a dozen of the 56 or so people there and probably a lot more once I see them. Still it is a lot of peopling for me and right much pickleball. I'll be slamming ibuprofen when I return.
Then tomorrow we're doing lunch and a movie as the continuation of Dana's birthday. We're going to see Godzilla, minus One. She and I grew up with the original movie and this one is supposed to be in the same vein but with better puppets.
