Some days I realize how fortunate I am

Today is one of those days. Just me and the dogs for the most part this morning. And they were, as always, wonderful. Several new ones. Three puppies, maybe a month or so old, and one puppy more like four or five months. I don't know the story of the three really young ones but they will not be around long. They are very adoptable and will soon be moved to a place where that can happen.

This is Sarge:

He's got a wonky ear. He was one of three dogs found by the highway with no ID. Two had been hit by cars and didn't make it. Sarge is fine. He's too young for the Ranch so will move on soon to an adoption place unless one of the volunteers grabs him first.

He is an attack dog, though:

I could have an entire book of pictures where I'm under attack like this by a dog.

Here is one of the younger miscreants in jail:

Not in the same set as Sarge, I don't know their story but there are three of them exactly the same. Completely black lab mixes. Nothing but trouble. They'll be gone soon too.

He needs a tin cup to bang on the bars.

For much of the morning I was the only volunteer.  The couple that usually joins me was doing Christmas with relatives.  Another lady came around 9 and I'm sure there were more later.

Did not matter too much to me.  I just did my thing with the dogs.  It was a nice day to be outside with my friends.
