This will take a while
I've pretty much decided if I'm going to break from LJ to do it completely. It doesn't make sense to keep a toe in the water if I've decided the water is contaminated.
I am going to try to import my stuff although no real reason to do so as I never look back and haven't tagged anything to be searchable. And as I've not yet made the effort to connect with anyone on DW I'm writing for an audience of 2.
So a little strange or a lot strange.
But I'm in the middle of reading a couple of different books that discuss change and the personal results from the attempts to keep it from happening. So I'm flowing with the stream.
In the big picture of things I think leaving LJ is maybe more collective punishment than I'd like but it appears that Russia is moving towards increasingly authoritarian rule. This DW account is a free one for now but I respect their intent to keep it advert free so I'll likely pay soon. The Wikipedia page speaks well of the site.
Clearly the hyperlink works easily but adding a picture will take a while. So, things to learn. Bit by bit.

Yes, posting photos is way different and kind of a bugger. I'm still trying to figure out the best way. Stay tuned.
I'm glad you are here.

And yes, the photo upload situation here is a bit odd.
I'll probably save the DW photo uploader for Gifs, memes, and such. Essentially any photos that I haven't taken myself I'll upload using DW. *lol*
I have a Flickr account for personal photos anyhow, so I'll just use the embed link from there to add those photos into posts.

I think I'm going to open a Filckr account to create links too.
