All before 10:30

Dana has been in Tyler since last Monday tending to her step aunt who broke her hip last week. This happened once before a few months back but she's out of hips now so no idea what is next. Dana likes going up there. The house is left over from semi-high society and Dana grew up loving the country club crowd. I grew up with a country club but can not stand to be around the Tyler group so I'm happy to let her go up by herself. She leaves Toby here so it is me and the two dogs. Perfect.

This is the first day of the quarter, first day of the half year and beginning of the month so the list of to do stuff is long. After walking the dogs on our mile and a half walk I changed the AC filter up in the attic. This required redistributing some crap that was in the way after we had more insulation blown in. It is truly crap but not mine so it just gets moved over, not thrown out. But I managed and the filter is changed. Six month chore complete.

The grass needed trimming so I cut it and trimmed and blew off the drive. That got me into what I assumed to be a rabbit hole. Turns out it was a wonderful warranty experience. I bought my Kobalt battery powered mower in July of 2020 and have loved it from the beginning. Last time I used it and again today it started cutting out when the grass got thick. I assumed it was battery and I'd have to buy a replacement battery. After three years that seemed to be OK. Turns out the warranty is five years and includes the entire system. So I'm to bring this one back and get a replacement. For free. Amazing. Lowes and Kobalt get a bunch of thumbs up from me. I think I might have to wait until Dana's return to get the thing to Lowes for the return. I might be able to wedge it in the Smart Car but why should I try.

After cutting the grass I moved on to my next chore, cleaning the AC condenser. It is another twice a year job. Using a can of condenser cleaner I sprayed the fins with cleaner and then hosed them off. It is a bit more complicated what with getting the hose from the other side of the fence and assembling tools and such but it is not arduous. And is really satisfying. I got it done and back together and the AC will work more efficiently (not so I can notice but the heat transfer is reportedly way better if the fins are clean).

AND this is medicate the dogs day. Every three months I give them both a Bravecto pill that keeps the fleas and tics away. Very expensive and worth every penny. Anyone who is old enough to have fought the flea battle appreciates how much better oral meds are. I've not seen a flea in years and used to live with them.

I also got four more meals from Hello Fresh today. Not knowing that Dana was going to be out of office I ordered food from Dinnerly last week and Hello Fresh this week. So no worries planning what to eat. Eight meals from each over two weeks. Fortunately it is all stuff I like and would not be cooking if they were not in the refrigerator. Much healthier than peanut butter and jelly.

So all of the above before 10:30.

The only thing I have left to do is bathe Zoe. She picked up some skunk smell somewhere and it isn't wearing off so it is bath day today. She doesn't know it yet but will soon.

Then, likely, a nap.
