Birthday Boy

March is a big birthday month in our family. Toby is 7 years old today. Zoe will be 14 on the 15th. And, of course, my sister closer to the end of the month.
Toby is being well treated, much like every day, and Zoe's gifts arrive from Chewy today. They will both get a lot out of them. I got a couple of puzzle feeders and some pig's ears.
Today was primary voting day. I assumed the polls would be empty for a primary. But turns out this is a big Republican opportunity to eat their own. There are huge fights in the state within the party. Both the governor and the attorney general are on vendettas against people who did not fall in line for the stupid crap they tried to pull. I'm pretty sure there were four of us Democrats in the polling place but there were 40+ Repubs in line. (once the selections are made and the ballot printed, the voter takes the printed ballot and puts it in either Repub or Dem machine so it is obvious to everyone who the Dems are). There were two black voters in front of me who had Dem on their ballots and one guy who put his in the machine when we were in line. So I know there were four of us. But I think that was about it.
The temp is 85 degrees today headed to 90+. The morning was nice and I'm not going out in the heat so not sure I care too much. I've got done what I need to do.
The Stephen King book, Revival, picked up and was a fairly good book. The end was typically weird but I love his writing and turn of phrase so I tolerate the weird endings.
I dumped the first book in a series I was looking forward to. It was a Joy Ellis series and there was a lot I didn't like about it so, gone. My sister is reading the first in another series by Joy Ellis that I asked her to save once she was done with it. I'm not optimistic. Meanwhile, I picked up "The Burying Place" by Brian Freeman. Fifth book in a series. I'm an hour or so in and think I may have already read it. But I'll stick it out for a while to be sure. If so, I can just move on to the next one in the series.
