1 - FleetFeet - I bought Hoka shoes a couple of years ago and they really helped cushion my walking. Since I walk every day they also started wearing badly. I bought an identical pair a few months ago and started alternating so they would both last longer. One of the new ones developed a crack on the sole, a fairly big one. On a $160 pair of three month old shoes. I contacted FleetFleet where I bought them online and was immediately told that I could return them for a full refund and buy an identical pair for the same price. They also gave me the alternative of contacting Hoka directly but the first choice seemed better. So I ordered a new pair which arrived yesterday and sent the RMA by FedEx also yesterday. I'll have the refund long before I have to even pay the credit card. The way things should work.
2 - Ember - My sister gave me one of the Ember coffee cups which charges on a plate and then holds a charge through a cup or more of coffee. That way it is heating your coffee while you can carry it around. It works pretty well but the charging plate has a problem with the connection prongs and the spring that should keep them engaged with the cup. I contacted Ember and a year after I received the cup they replaced the charging pad no questions asked. Ember is not cheap and I would not have bought a new pad so this was really exceptional.
There is an expectation in today's world that has not always existed. I'm not sure where it started but the expectation is that things should work for a long time and be replaced if they don't, even if it has been a while. Companies are far more responsive for far longer. It is nice to see.
The day started out below freezing but will be walkable in half an hour or so. And in a couple of days will be around 80 (27) degrees. I'm looking at sun shirts for my Dog Ranch walking. Ones with a hood to protect my neck.
