Financial genius
Oct. 2nd, 2024 12:34I live it when the stock market is going up. I'm a financial genius. And my poor memory allows me to forget the reverse.
ATM, the air conditioning guy is here. Yesterday was maintenance day. I changed the filter and washed off the fins in the fan as I do every six months. And the AC stopped blowing cold air. So, compressor or low refrigerant or capacitor. Or all three.
Right now he says he's got to replace the capacitor. It is a battery that stores up a charge to jump start the compressor. Mine is dead. Dr. Internet says it is a likely problem at six years old. The AC guy is charging something like $288 but that is actually probably a good cost. It is not a triple A battery.
He's going to check the refrigerant too which we need.
With luck the new capacitor will spin up the compressor and we'll be back in business at around $400 ish.
It is a fix that we needed anyway. Six years.
This month's expense.
