A lovely day to play
Feb. 3rd, 2025 15:57This morning started out kind of chilly but not nearly as bad as it had been. Now I'm in shorts and the sun is out and it is over 80. I'm afraid that we'll be in for an early summer start again this year. Nothing to be done for it and I've not really enjoyed the two weeks of winter anyway.
This morning we had a mostly full complement of pickleball players. The usual suspects and a couple of new people. I miss the social interaction when I can't play and today was no different. It was fun and the group was more about playing and not too competitive. The style of play is completely different with different partners so it is fun to have a mix of people. We don't keep partners, it is always mixing up so that no one really becomes dominant.
We played a couple of hours and my legs could tell that I'd taken a while off. I will be working on getting my leg strength and balance back to where it was. On my way back I was eyeballing my bike, the trail bike. I need to get it down and blow up the tires and get it ready to go so I can just hop on.
I'm looking forward to tomorrow with the dogs. I've not felt well the past few times so tomorrow will be nice. And the weather will, again, be lovely.
I've not seen an update but will find out tomorrow. Khaleesi (picture above) had a couple of 'masses' inside that were removed. Last week she was at the vet. I'm hoping she will be back so I can say hi and hope she's recovering. She was really active and running around the week before so at least it wasn't bothering her until it did. Finger's crossed but they are all pretty old.
There are a couple of new ones that I'll try to get out tomorrow and get some pictures. They were still acclimating last week. They were found on the road where a lot of our residents are discovered. It will be a good morning to meet and get them out.
