Short ride

bill_schubertI normally try to ride an hour or more when I do go out since it takes me a bit to get things organized. But today I did a shorter circuit. I could have done more but it was just a day for getting in a bit of a ride, not pushing too hard. I've got the Dog Ranch tomorrow so that's a lot of walking.
I did some data entry on Sigtrack today and will probably do some more while I eat whatever it is I'm having for lunch. The entry is getting easier. I've got to get a lot faster for it to pay much but there's time. If I can get my accuracy where they want it (98%) then the rest will come. I'd like to have the option whenever I want to drop in and knock out a few sheets.
What I'm doing is verifying signatures. There are several states involved all the time but California is always petitioning something or other and someone has to verify that whoever has signed a legal petition is, in fact, a registered voter. And people can not write for crap. So we interpret chicken scratches into verified voters. Sometimes it is easy, sometimes impossible. They pay a few pennies for each line completed and expect a 98% accuracy. Every line is checked by two people with the second person verifying and grading the first. No interaction with anyone. It is kind of like doing the same Prolific survey over and over. Weird, I know. But at least until I get good at it the process is interesting.
