bill_schubertWe had some cherry pie that I'd bought. HEB makes a decent cherry pie and sells half a pie for probably too much money. I don't check the price but I do eat the pie making it last four or five servings.
Dana said, 'Hey, you need to get come vanilla ice cream' obviously meaning I need to buy some before the pie is gone so I can have it with the pie. Too late.
But I did buy ice cream. Hers and mine. Both vanilla (she's lactose intolerant so Nada Moo).
And no pie. I was going to buy a small spice cake that HEB always has in their flat frig near the front door. But as I frequently do, 'that's dumb, I've got the makings at home and can do at least as well with stuff I've already paid for'.
Hence tonight's desert:
A joy for me is to have stuff on hand to throw together and make cake or cookies or bread without having to go the to the store. I can nearly always do that only occasionally having to grab some butter milk or something like that.
This was an entirely stuff on hand cake.
And, I have vanilla ice cream to go with it. Amazing how that works out.
