Sad and quiet

It is always sad to see one of my sons leave after a visit.  I never see enough of them especially now.  They are both so interesting and fun to be with.  So I love the quiet and lack of visitors and routine but miss the acerbic wit and gentle interplay between he and his wife.  There are so few people I like being around for any length of time.  Both of the boys are in that category.  

I'm toying with making the 13 hour road trip in the summer to visit them (and take them boxes of stuff I'd like to 'pass on to the kids'.  Rent a car, take the dog.  Full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes and sun glasses.  Hit it.
