A good day to be retired
Jan. 10th, 2022 07:32I am increasingly grateful this week to be in a position that I don't have to go to work or interact with children who have been in large groups all day. A huge part of that gratitude is Covid based, of course.
My invalid brother in law, already in an assisted living facility, now has Covid and is in the hospital. He's vaccinated so will likely be OK but he does not have a lot of room to be sick and survive which makes it dicey even if the vaccine keeps his Covid symptoms at a minimum. He is in a room now so that sounds promising. But the pressure of his condition weighs heavily on my wife. Many times recently she has been his only support. Fortunately she had not visited recently so was neither the carrier nor recipient of Covid.
My brush with what was likely not even a true two degrees away from Covid has come to nothing. I feel better now than last week when the Juniper (AKA Cedar) levels were high. Other than the fact that Dana has an early appointment this morning and got up around 6 which, of course, got me up so I could get her something to eat, I'm fine. I'm ready to go back to bed now, though.
