Rude awakening and puppies today

I had signed up for a Prolific study, one that was supposed to last for two weeks. It was interesting in that it required me to have an app on my phone that sent an alert at which point I was supposed to enter whatever I was thinking at that moment and answer some questions about it. Today was the first day. At 7:22 while I was in the middle of a bad dream I suddenly heard some animal that sounded like it was being tortured. Wife, two dogs and I all three reacted towards the door before I realized that it was the app going off telling me to give them my thoughts.

I uninstalled the app and apologized to the researcher that I was not someone for their study. Great way to start the day.

Today is my first day back with the dogs at the Dog Ranch since my Seattle trip. They will be happy to see me and vice versa.

After I decided to water my lady banks roses using a tree root watering stake at the suggestion of @beautiful_dreamer_02 they have decided to get a bit more serious about blooming:

 I watered the roots again today so we'll see how they do.  I'd love to have this wall covered in blooms, as would the bees and birds.
