I went for a bike ride fully aware of the fact that the wind is blowing from the south. My path headed out to the north and returned to the south. Not, IMHO, very smart.

The wind was only 15 miles an hour but on the way back it was in my face. So the wind speed is actually my speed plus 15. Even if I'm going slowly it is 25 miles an hour of hot and dry moisture sucking killer wind. I really didn't have enough water and knew it too late (story of my life) but I managed to get through.
I've got Pink Floyd's Pulse album downloaded for such occasions so that if I die of a heart attack on my bike the last thing I hear will be David Gilmore's guitar. But Davie and I made it this time.
With a couple of miles that I typically ride towards the end cut off I'm sitting and cooling and watering myself.
Just another day on the bike in Texas summer.
The ride was probably more dangerous than I needed at my age. It was something that I've done a few times in my life but maybe as I approach 70 should maybe do a little less. I hate rules.
As I was coming back I was thinking that I'm going to spend the money on a heart monitor that integrates with the chart above so I can see how bad things actually are. Self training.
My guess is that in an hour or so I'll be back to normal.
