Dog Ranch day - Nanner
Nov. 17th, 2022 12:24Today was a nice day to be out with the dogs. My phone says I walked about 3 and a half miles with them and a mile and a half with Zoe. So I got my steps and my interaction.
When I walk down the doggy apartment isle there are a couple of dogs that jump at the bars and act vicious. None of them are vicious, they just feel like they need to protect their turf when a dog walks by. One of them is Nanner. Nanner is a Great Dane mixed breed and is a handful. Not too many people want to walk him. Until he gets outside he is psychotic. Then he calms down. But he's about 100 pounds of wild animal when I first go into his apartment to get him on the lead. It is a little dangerous. For me. He'd never intentionally harm me but I've got a bunch of scratches and gouges from unintentional actions. So I'm careful when I go in and have to work pretty hard to keep him controlled until he's out the door.
But then he's the sweetest dog. There are some of the people who come just to spend time with him. Such an anomaly. As with all of them, he has a story that ends at the sanctuary:
He can't have a collar or anything like it. He finds a way to chew it off. His apartment is fortified since she will destroy anything he can figure out how to destroy.
I mean, would you look at that nose!!
