It is near freezing and wet outside this morning so I'm hanging out in my office reading and waiting for the packing people to arrive:

Anticipating the arrival of "Julia" by Sandra Newman I'm rereading "1984". It has a very different flavor that when I first read it in the 70's. The world and I have both changed dramatically. Among many other things I do not remember the book being particularly misogynistic but I suspect I was just tone deaf. There are so many other layers in the book now both topical and historical so it is a mind churning read.
Meanwhile, I'm on watch.
