I've got pickleball with a group of 7 others at 1 today. It is a group I play with a couple of times a week (they play on Tuesday/Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoon but I skip Thursday after my Wednesday lesson). The rain knocked out Friday's games so I've not played since Wednesday night.

The lessons are interesting. The instructor doesn't much instruct (and never so much as introduced himself) so we're basically just paying to play with a different group of people who are advanced. The play is strong and I don't win as much. My current focus is to play using tactics that the more advanced people do assuming I'll grow into them eventually. It means I miss shots that I could make if I was doing it the way I used to but in the long run it should work to my advantage.

I can never decide if this thing is serious or I'm just at recess. Still working on it.

Looks like Dana is going back up to Tyler on Tuesday or Wednesday for some period of time. Her aunt had more hip surgery to fix the last hip surgery which was due to a fall. As long as I don't have to go I don't much care. It also sounds like she may take Toby which would leave Zoe and me by ourselves. Very weird. Party details to follow.

Speaking of which. Tomorrow morning Zoe and I go back to College Station to the Texas A&M vet for her twice a year physical. It has become kind of a PIA two hour drive down and two hours back but the workup is complete and free and it advances the knowledge of aging in dogs.

Interestingly she's kind of going through a youth spurt. She's perky and jumping around and playing jokes on Dana. The best one is she will go into the bathroom and grab the toilet paper out of Dana's hand just when she has pulled it off the role. A couple of days ago she grabbed one of Toby's chew toys and dropped it in the trash in front of Dana. Zoe is fairly serious with me but she screws with Dana all the time. Zoe was born in 2010 so she'll be 14 this March. I don't know if the drug (Rapamycin) she was taking for the trial mattered at all. Not even sure if she got it or a placebo.

She sleeps more and sometimes moves a little slower but still trots down the path on our walks just like she has always done and will run back when I call her. I'm thankful for every day she is with me and well and trying to figure out ways to annoy me.

As she is now:
