Eyeball test
May. 6th, 2024 16:41I have gotten a headache a couple of times watching TV and it goes away when I take off my glasses. So I decided to see the eye doc. No insurance for optometry but I've not been in a couple of years and need to have them seen anyway.
Turns out everything is good. No glaucoma, no macular degeneration, nerves and all the rest are in excellent condition. Worth the money to hear that. I've got some eyedrops and she suggested that I use something that actually cleans the eyes at the end of the day and kills any bacteria and generally tries to boost the health and efficiency of the ducts that water the eyes during the day. So I'll use that. And some standard eyedrops. I do think my eyes dry out and I just put up with it. But now I'm old enough that it is not really healthy for my eyeballs to dry out. SO I'll pay more attention.
And I had a minor prescription change and they are doing a pair of glasses for me. I'm interested in how the ones they have done come out. They cost about double what Zenni costs. I have a pair of glasses by each of two TV's and one in the car and one sunglasses in the car. And they last me a couple of years or more. So getting them right is more important than getting them cheap. We'll see if that's true when I get the ones they made me.
Meanwhile the right rear turn signal in my car has gone out. I replaced the bulb but it still doesn't work. So either the car parts place recommended the wrong bulb or I've got something else going on. I have the shop to take it to but need to find the right day (last couple of weeks would have been perfect with nothing on the calendar) that I can leave the car.
But I just called my very excellent shop and they have a 'loaner appointment' set up for me next Monday afternoon. SO I can leave off the car and not care if I get it back next day. I could actually do OK with not getting a loaner but for my Dog Ranch schedule. The dogs would NOT be pleased if I missed a day just because I didn't have a car.
I do so love that shop. They have only solutions.
