Zoe, Toby and I did the walk we used to do this morning.  Mile and a half and it went OK.  Zoe and I were kind of beat going up the last hill.  There was a woman behind us and I pulled over to let her pass.  She said she wasn't moving too fast and I told her I was 3 weeks past getting a new hip and was taking it easy myself.  Turned out she had back surgery four weeks ago.  We commiserated.

Zoe is sleeping having just stopped panting an hour after our return.   Only part of it was the heat.  She and I are getting old.

I iced down my hip and knee and feel pretty good.

My sleep has been kind of bad for a while now.  I've been on a CPAP for 25+ years and have moved from one device to another and the one that has been working for a long time is not so good now.  So I made a change and got a device that kind of seals my mouth so I'm breathing only out of my nose.  That seems to really help and is pretty easy to tolerate.  Now I'm thinking I could switch from full mask to just nasal pillow which is where I started and is really much more comfortable and less leaking.  The one thing that Scott and White don't do well is support sleep issues.  There is a sleep specialist in Georgetown we used to use but they don't take Medicare.  SO I'm doing my own research.  There's a guy in Australia that wrote a program that seriously crunches sleep data and makes recommendations.  You just need to upload the info on the CPAP device SD card.

The rub.  I no longer have an SD card reader.  I'm sure I had 20 or so of them at the shop but no longer.  I could probably beg one off my PC support friend but decided to buy one of Amazon.  They are cheap.  Fortunately I checked to see if there was a card in the machine.  Turns out there is not.  I think the nurse at S&W may have removed it and not returned it.  No matter.  They are cheap.

Before ordering I went through my drawers to be sure I didn't have a  reader.  And threw out about a hundred various cords and USB mini and maxi and C and A and phone covers for phones I no longer have and basically half a trash basked of junk.  My desk floats much higher now and I've got two of everything in a couple of plastic see through boxes in the bottom drawer.

I still can't put on socks or tie my left shoe so I'm going to go to what I think is a Skechers store today and see if I can find a good pair of Skechers to walk in.  I suspect this problem will continue off and on and I'm really hooked on Skechers so it is worth it.
