Guess we lost power last night
Sep. 3rd, 2024 11:28We had some rain and must have been something else going on. It didn't wake me up with my CPAP so it must have not been for long but my PC had reset and the garage door sensor is out of whack. Still works but doesn't at the moment notify me that it is open/closed. Happens every time we lose power.
We're in the maybe rainy season now which is nice. I think summer is over. We only had a few trip digit days so for all it seemed hot it was not too bad. I think we're beyond that now and into the nice fall season. Is good.
The Ranch was a bit chaotic today. New dogs (happens every now and then they will get a few new dogs that disappear before I get back) were around. And two of the volunteers, a husband and wife, did not show. So for much of the morning I was the only volunteer. My deal is that I go there, walk dogs for two plus hours and leave. If I happen to find out some juicy tidbit in passing, fine, but for the most part I live in ignorance. Just me and the dog I'm walking. There was on regular volunteer who did show up after 90 minutes or so. She always arrives later and stays later. With two of us we did not get all the dogs walked. But we do what we can do and I don't much worry about the rest.
I did get to walk Beau today. He came to the ranch with a bad eye infection that has completely cleared up. He seems fine and happy and such a hound dog:

He has ears longer than many of the dogs in the small dog house:

Along with quite a bit of extra skin all over.
But he is healthy now and happy and glad to be there.
Dana is down in Austin at a Bead store. She spends a lot of time there not spending so much money but talking a lot with the people who work there. And then some comes back and makes necklaces. It is a nice hobby that will never pay any money but she enjoys it.
My day is empty. Shower and Prolific and Dexter and some tennis. OK, not so empty. But first, shower.
