Feels like Sunday
Oct. 12th, 2024 12:38I was scheduled for Pickleball tomorrow but they had five people and it is supposed to be 99 degrees so I dropped. It is probably just as well. My shoulder needs the rest and I'm on for three times next week.
It feels like Sunday today. No idea why. Just a quiet day.
The afternoons are hot still but the mornings are cool. I assume it is the norm now. Late next week the afternoons are in the 80s rather than 90s. So I guess that is Texas fall.
Last year they said it was going to be a cold winter. Farmer's Almanac.
No one ever remembers unless the prediction is right. It was not. This year it says warmer than usual. I could have guessed that.
The Texas - Oklahoma football game is today in a couple of hours. It was always a game our family was aware of since both parents went to OU and we knew a lot of big, loud people from Texas. This year it is a big deal since all the big schools are pulling for Oklahoma to knock Texas off their number 1 perch. Texas has not really been pushed this year. This is their first big challenge so it is a big game.
I barely watch American football now days. Since MLS is over, though, with only one remaining game for teams like Austin that didn't make the playoffs and no longer have a coach since we fired his ass after losing AGAIN, I'll likely watch some more. Navy has a really good team this year as does Army. Both are undefeated and headed towards a match both with Notre Dame and each other. Definitely some potential there.
Otherwise it is just a normal Sunday around here.
Currently no disasters in the making.
