Fun with phish
Jan. 12th, 2025 10:54I went ahead and assumed that I was scammed. Amazon kind of verified it and Google, belatedly, flagged the number as spam and removed the message. So I contacted Chase and they are sending me a new card. I've got a USAA CC that we can use for a few days. I've done it before. Only a minor PIA.
SO, the next thing was to change my Amazon PW. Amazon actually makes it easy. It gives you a one button 'reset all of Amazon except this page' kind of thing. Sure. I clicked it.
Dana was asleep when every Alexa in the house started announcing that it was resetting.
Amazingly she did not wake up. Whew.
The Alexa's reset way better than they used to and I think we're back up and working with a new Amazon PW. And a new CC on the way. So it is all no problem and someone is buying my useless CC number.
And I'll be a bit more compassionate about people who click on shit they shouldn't.
