Bakeries are not abundant
Mar. 14th, 2025 08:58Today would be a good day to be in Seattle.
It is Pi day and I always feel like I need to honor it.
HEB will have their usual assortment but we just don't have a real bakery close by.
I'm not pickling today. I was on the schedule to play at 10:30 but the wind is above 15 MPH and I just don't enjoy playing with that kind of wind.
My left hip and/or left knee (the two of them invariably collude) are achy. I think the dogs yesterday and earlier pickling maybe jerked things a bit more than they want to be jerked. The doc said my left hip will not be 100% until a year is up. Being the bull in a china shop that I am I forget that I'm only maybe 90% done healing. I've got another quarter of the year to complete it.
But. Pi.
I'm going to cut the grass. After doing the weed and feed thing a couple of weeks ago it is time. And, wind aside, it is a lovely day.
My internal clock told me to get up around 1:30 last night to see the lunar eclipse. My internal clock is pretty good with time, less so with calendar. I told it that Thursday was a day early, but good job. It was cloudy anyway.
After cutting the grass I'm going to go look for pie and for baby chicks. Weirdly difficult to find any. There is obviously a dearth of chicks. After destroying the chickens they need to be replaced. And after there being an issue with egg prices, the backyard chicken industry is triving.
I've spent hours looking online and in the vicinity for chicks. One place had 50 coming in yesterday but they were 'straight run' meaning not sexed. You get what you get. Much as I'd be fine with a rooster we can't have one. We're trying to be very, very quiet here.
So the search continues.
