Dana went yesterday and got her xrays. No surprise, she does not have much of a a ball and socket joint on the right side. The doc said 'when would be a good time to deal with this?' Dana said that it was hurting all the time and the sooner, the better. "How about next Tuesday?"
I think that is absolutely ideal for her. No time to think about it, obsess, find horror stories on Facebook, etc. And she is already at the point she should be using a cane all the time and is sleeping poorly. So, I got some replacement volunteers to cover for me at the Ranch and jumped on the after market joint conveyor belt with her.
It is not the same doc I had but he's clearly on top of things. He called her this morning to be sure they were in agreement of when she should stop which drugs. She's got a list of stuff to do and is working it.
I'll be happy for her to get this taken care of. She's been in denial for half a year when I knew it was only a matter of time before she had to deal with it. I think the post surgery will be less pain than she's in now. And better drugs.
It is drizzly today so no pickleball.
I've already been to the clinic to get a ultra sound of my abdominal aorta to be sure it is still OK. Benefits of smoking. Men in my age bracket who smoked a bunch have a tendency of blowing up their AA. The test is only recommended through age 75. After that they don't care. Good a way to go as any. This is the fourth time I've had it looked at and it has come up fine so far.
So my day is pretty much done. We have a new Asian restaurant, Hao Hao, in our neighborhood so I think we're going to do the early dinner thing there.
