I thought I'd try to call the IRS today to find out when they might process my 2019 amended return.  The message said that an hour and a half after they had opened this morning their queue was too full to add me.  It was just a casual call.  I didn't expect much and was not really surprised.  I was just hoping that I didn't have to get up early to hit them when they open one morning.  But it looks like I will.  Maybe tomorrow.  The web site for Amended return information says they open at 7AM.  They don't give a time zone.  The web sites say 'local time' which is kind of strange for an 800 number that ends up in Washington.

So, nothing to be done today.  I'll be filing an extension for my 2020 taxes since I've yet to receive a K-1 that was due to me in January.  Not a big deal and had my CPA done his job properly it is what I would have done last year too.  File an extension and leave the return open rather than file and then amend.   Of course he charged me for the amended return too.  In retrospect I would have never used a CPA for my personal return.  It is complicated but I'd have basically paid myself about 5 or 6 thousand dollars to learn how to manage my own filings.  And I'd more likely have done it correctly.

Other than that, a quiet day.  I might have to go to the store for dog food.  I've got a referral bonus for Home Chef and a 'please come back' bonus from Hello Fresh so we have food for a couple of weeks without going to the store.  But I didn't plan well for the dogs.  They are SO NEEDY!
