No Thanks

Like susandennis I'm not much on big get togethers for forced 'holidays'.  If my sons were closer I'd likely get together with them.  I like them both and love to hang out with them.  But way too far away.  I'd go to seattle and ruin my sister's quiet time but no airports during high travel season for me.

So I went out to eat with a friend today, the guy that took over much of my business.  He buys me lunch every few months.  It is a good gig for me.  He buys lunch and we talk about his business and I give him advice that he no longer needs.  It is one of two major socialization times I have.

Dana was invited to an early Thanksgiving meal with her cousin in Austin.  The invite was for noon so Dana ran around all morning trying to get everything done on time only to receive a text that it has been delayed to 4PM.  I felt bad for her but happy for me.  Non toxic day here with the dogs.

My plan is to head to Home Depot or Lowes and get a couple of things I need for projects.  We need a new striker plate on our door.  The one we have is the cheap one we got with the house and does not shut the door tightly.  I've fixed one of these before and a new plate works wonders.  And I want to see if I can find a way to put a couple of dividers in the cupboard that holds our cutting boards so that they stay standing upright rather than falling over.  The fix is more difficult than it sounds and I may need a while to engineer something.  

What happens when you finger write with a phone

It is 23" deep and 20" high but has no top.  Above it is the knife drawer.  So I need some kind of brackets to use to slide in two separators.  Or two precisely cut separators that will wedge in and can then be screwed in. 

I'm working on it.

Well, crap, that is not nearly as complex or expensive or as likely to fail as what I was going to do. What fun is that?
