There are five Pyrenees dogs at the Ranch. They are all VERY laid back and no problem at all. I'd have a pair in a minute if I had a few acres of land and some livestock to protect. So sweet. But they are huge. No one was walking them today so I walked three of the five.
These two are Bandit and Texas. Or the other way around. Not sure which is which..

Their picture does not really tell the story of how big they are. I guess they are 120+ pounds not including the fur which is probably another 15. If they wanted to they would be uncontrollable.

But as I was walking them I was wishing I had a cart. They would probably not even notice they were pulling.
It is not too hot at the Ranch when I go and there is always a breeze. Fortunately the two buildings have solid infrastructure and huge air conditioners so it is always the perfect temp there. And they have a huge backup generator if they should lose power. So they are actually in better shape than we are at our house.
And we got them all walked today. I spent half an hour with Khaleesi. Dana is only a little jealous.

Slowly the land is disappearing around here but more patches than I can tell you about have a few sheep with a couple of Pyrenees dogs guarding them. Riding my bike it sometimes seemed like they were everywhere. These five at the Ranch do OK. They don't move around a lot and when they do it is pretty slow. My guess is their metabolism matches the weather and the fur actually protects them in the same manner as long clothes in the desert.
Sweetest dogs in the world unless and until they decide that you are an intruder threatening their patch of land or their sheep. They are so big that they don't need to be vicious. They just run at you barking and the deal is done.
