New dog to walk today

bill_schubertA husky mix I'd never met before. An abused rescue who has been fostered by one of the Ranch staff. His name is Scout (someone was a To Kill a Mockingbird fan, I think).
I'm not a huge husky fan but he's a sweetheart. Just as nice as he can be. Happy to be on the planet! And he has ghost eyes. They are almost white. Never seen any like them before. He does not stay still even for long enough to take a picture so that was the best I could get.
He is a bathing beauty, though:
One of the volunteers fills up all the pools and bowls when he gets there in the morning so fresh water to play in for all the doggies.

Khaleesi had a good time today running around and splashing in the pool. Adorable as ever.
It was a good day at the ranch.
On the way back I stopped well short of the active rail tracks with the red light. Two cars ahead of me thought they would play chicken and sat on the tracks until the light turned green.
It is truly amazing that people do that. Trusting in the world that nothing will happen. A very minor Darwin award picture. Two sets of tracks only one of them you can see. Three cars, two of which are on the second set of tracks:
FIFA world cup starts today overlapping a bit with the Tour de France. TdF is pretty much over. A couple of more days for the sprinters but most of it is decided. Sunday's ride into Paris will not change things much but will be fun to watch, as always.
I'm about to shower and watch the Ireland and Aussie ladies get into it from a game last night. I don't know who won. I'm very much looking forward to Friday night's game with the U.S. women.
