Upcoming week

My calendar says I've got another fairly quiet week. Tues/Thurs for the Ranch and the dogs and a Wednesday lunch with my networking group. No docs, no tests.
Unfortunately it will start warming up. Seriously, this time. We had one day in the 80's last week but it cooled back down. Starting Wednesday it is 80 or above every day for the foreseeable future. Lots of spring showers in the maybe category but nearly 70 in the mornings. So, goodbye spring.
My left hip pain and resultant knee pain are pretty constant now. Fortunately not getting worse. I'm doing some exercises. Lots of walking every day but I've not been cycling and not doing much in the way of lifting or squats or the rest I should be doing.
Week after this one I've got a CT look at my heart to see if the pocket is blocked off correctly. Once we get that result back I talk to my structural cardio and get the decision about whether or not I can go off blood thinners in mid June so I can do the hip thing. He's not thrilled about letting me go off them. He says the American standard is six months which would be August but there may be some leeway. I actually think he's going to make me postpone. Which sucks. He knows it sucks but is weighing the hazards of my having a stroke against that. I'll do what he says.
I'm currently reading (listing to) Peter Grainger's sixth book with DC Smith as a protagonist. This one is about Northern Ireland where Smith was a British soldier and spy 30 years earlier. These books are so good, so many insights into England and now Ireland and so well read. I'm amazed there has not been a series on BBC from them but happy that there are a bunch of them and they are available for free in the libraries.
At the moment I'm watching Dana on the map headed home. She's got another hour and a half coming back from a school reunion in Tyler. Then I just need to decide on dinner.
Maybe a short nap before she gets back.

Date: 2024-04-24 15:08 (UTC)I have found fantastic relief for my hip pain with Glucosamine Gold Gel made by Snowden Healthcare in the UK. It would probably be expensive to ship so maybe another brand would be as good.
It might help you get over the bridge until your surgery if you haven't tried some.
