I was in a bad way before my last hip op. My main exercises that stood me in good stead was swinging my leg back and forth on a step so the bad leg side could be fully stretched while doing it. And also swinging it side ways both x 20 three times a day. I did both sides. It was my main exercise but i did keep active despite the pain. I had a speedy recovery. Hope this makes sense and could possibly be of help. Just keep moving what ever way you choose !
