In all fairness, I'm not sure what good he could have done, or will do, by remaining at home. But his excuse that he was trying to be a good dad by escorting his children is bullshit. His wife is clearly shown in one of the airport photos. She could have escorted the children by herself. He was going to vacation in Cancun ... until he was noticed by ... the world.

He can do what any leader should do. Show compassion, empathy, decisive problem solving. Be in the boiler room where decisions are made that save lives. Or move to Cancun permanently. If one accepts the mantle of public service they should make a difference or leave. He wants to hang out in the comfortable spotlight with the likes of Trump and not pay any dues for his paycheck.

I needed the exercise. No swimming here. We can both watch the other side of my neighbor's drive to see how it would have come out had I done nothing. but it is gratifying to look this morning and see dry concrete.
