No, not the weather.  It is summer in Texas and only 90 (32) degrees at noon.  Practically a cold wave.  Not the weather, it's the food.

We opted for a local Chinese takeout last night and I got some Kung Po Beef.  They offered "NO Spicy, A little Spicy, Very Spicy".  I took the middle one.  I like a VERY little spice but got way too much.  It was an experiment and now I know.  They have lots of good food and now I know my spice level I'm all set.  The nice thing is that one order is good for about three meals so it works out to $6/meal, pretty good.  The downside is I'm dumping the rest of this meal.  Can't eat it.  Sigh.

No biking today.  I'm letting everything take a day and will likely go on the road bike in the morning.  It will be hot so I'll have to work the hydration but I'll do a route that keeps me close to home, easy to bail out.  But I'll shoot for another 15+ miles, see how it feels.

Walking and some strength, stretching, yoga type stuff.

I found a site here and am expanding my reading some.  Nothing too dramatic but I've found some authors I'd not heard of yet but who should be in my ballpark of things I like.  As usual I've got one book in audio and one on Kindle and for the most part can keep them separate in my head.

I was watching those trim well muscled athletes and decided I needed to balance out their world so I made some chocolate chip cookies using this recipe.  First time I've tried browning butter and I must admit the batter tastes a little strange.  Not bad but definitely different.  The first test batch of four cookies is in the baby oven.

I'll likely cook a couple of more for tonight then freeze the rest so that I can reach in and grab one or two and have desert.  It is a favorite system.  One or two cookies is plenty for me at night but if I have more I'll eat them.  Not necessarily good to have a package of cookies around.  So having the dough frozen and ready to pop into the counter top oven is perfect.

Looking forward to these.  Picture to follow.
