Having not gone to bed at my usual early hours I really didn't feel like going out today.  So the bike riding in 85 (30) degrees counts as extra credit.  I'm out of the shower and still dripping.  This time of year is truly the worst.

I didn't feel up to doing more.  My mind was up to it but my body said it would not be happy.  In my 30's I'd have doubled the distance then added more just because.  But now with the option of overloading my systems and causing a failure I pay more attention to what my body says.

Just got a voice mail from my good friend Scam Likely.  "It's michael calling back.  Based on your business' Dun and Bradstreet score of 76 we do still have you pre approved for up to a $500 loan.... [and on and on]"

I love people who used DandB to make themselves sound substantial.  My VM translator might have gotten the number wrong but I deleted the actual VM so I'll never know if they actually think a $500 loan is worth anything.  Maybe I'm preapproved for a $500,000 loan.  I'd take that and leave the country.  They could have the business I left behind as collateral.

It is funny how long my business (shut down nearly 3 years ago now) is still in all the spurious databases that companies, fake and not, are paying money to access.

About six weeks ago I made an appointment to have my shoulder looked at by a guy who specializes in shoulder replacement.  It hurts all the time now and I'm taking lots of Tylenol.  Six weeks ago the hospitals were running as normal.  Getting an 'elective' surgery at this point is, I think, a non-starter.  We'll see but I suspect that I'll just be put on hold.  I was not sure I wanted it done but it's keeping me up at night and with the excellent results of the rest of my titanium joints I'm kind of leaning towards doing it.

So maybe it will be a Christmas present to me.  If the two previous surgeries are any indication it won't cost anything anyway.  A present I can afford.

The consult will be interesting.  My previous orthopedist who, it turns out, does knees and hips but does not do shoulders took one look at my shoulder x-ray and said 'that's a mess'.  So I think I likely qualify.  I've got bone spurs and deterioration of the ball and/or socket.  These guys look at this stuff and say 'see here?' and I say yes and can never see what the hell they are talking about.  But as long as they can.

Anyway, it will be interesting to see what the shoulder guy says.
