We have reservations on Monday afternoon at AH-F120: Casita CarolinaNear Marina & Ferry, Aransas Harbors, Port Aransas.  It is a house for four.  AirBNB kind of place, actually rented by VRBO.  We were originally going to a place in Mayport, FL but Dana didn't want to make the drive and we're not leaving the dogs so flying isn't an option.

Valentine's Day is our 25th anniversary, hence the relocation for a few days.  We come back Friday.  It is a four hour drive so no big deal.  Not real ocean but close enough.

Dana will be packing while I take stuff back out of the boxes.  The place has a full kitchen so we'll be able to take food.  But it is also near a bunch of restaurants so we can self-indulge with takeout or dine on the porch.  And, of course, we'll be taking the dogs so they will want their toys and all the treats.  Both are pretty good car dogs but we've never been this far before with them on probably the most boring drive possible.  Interstate all the way.  But there is a Bucky's about halfway.  Good planning.  Maybe a 5 hour drive.

Today is making sure the tires are full and the windshield fluid is full and the car is empty.

Watching: The Fall, which apparently has more than one season... and I AM in love with Gillian Anderson so fine w/ me.

Listening to: The Quiet American, Graham Greene.  So far it is one of those 'how did I miss this' books.

I cancelled Freshly, the latest in my delivery group.  What caused the final rift was a pulled pork dish.  I heated it up and took a taste.  It was tolerable, but not by much.  I looked at the list of ingredients.  The first one was cauliflower.

Nearly all the Freshly stuff is like that.  They really push the vegetables and kind of grind them all together.  So rather than have pepper slices, which would be OK, they have kind of chopped them to a very fine size and mushed them all together with, apparently, a lot of cauliflower and other stuff and a little pulled pork.

None of the meals were the best I've had.  Most were just OK.  None inspiring.

Since they were the most expensive per serving and we can get the same sort of thing at HEB (ie — single serving, ready to microwave or bake) for less money I cancelled the subscription.  It was easy to do, fortunately.

I think for the right pallet the food would work.  Just not mine.

We still have HelloFresh, HomeChef and Dinnerly in rotation.
