One of the partners suggested I start working on a web site and sent me a link to a site called Theme Forest where you can buy site themes. It is pretty nice. Good themes. Reasonable prices. Supported. BUT... it is just a theme. It is not a site. It is not close to a site. It is still a few thousand dollars from someone making it into a site. And I know zip about how to put together a site on Word Press. I can and have maintained one but starting from scratch? There is a reason that even a few web site pages cost thousands of dollars to design.

And don't get me started on getting Adobe stuff to edit the graphics. There are some things I have no ability with. Hitting a baseball and working with graphics are two of them. And I can hit a baseball a lot better than I can work with graphics. And I never made the little league cut [insert tragic childhood story here].

So my comeback is to work with the Wix site and put something together just so we can have something. And if we need more we can find someone to do it. I can handle Wix. Maybe. And they do have a lovely pool template so what more do we need. Cool pool, good logo, link to phone, link to email, room for a blog, room for employee stuff and customer comments. No one looks at web sites anyway. But you've got to have one.

I suppose I'll have to learn Instagram too. And the rest of the social junk that companies need to use.

So I'm working on Wix for a bit. It will keep me out of trouble.

And I'm working on blueberry muffins. PXL_20220723_153001882.MP A different recipe from the last King Arthur.  Still not my favorite.  But good.  I added some pecans which likely screwed with the liquid/solid ratio and, I think, didn't bake them quite long enough. So they are kind of fall apart muffins.  And I should have used some home made parchment paper muffin cups.  Next time.

I'm going to try again with a different recipe until I get what I want. PXL_20220723_153018205   The failures are delicious and so quick to make.  I walked Zoe, went on a bike ride, made muffins and took a shower.  The muffins cooked while I was in the shower so I was happily smelling muffins when I got out and felt like I could eat them with some impunity for having ridden the bike.

Altogether a good morning.

That we didn't have any trees so we don't have to worry about fire. I've been watching this camera for a while:

18:30 Tower Road Fire

The camera faces due north. Three and a half miles north of us is a wildfire in a grassy/brushy/small tree kind of place. It's been burning for a while now according to the news but it has been on my camera for the past couple of hours.

We're fine. There is a lot of space and fire prevention between the fire and us and what wind there is (according to Ventusky) is out of the south.

The fire is where I used to frequently ride my bike so I know the area well. There is right much kindling there and, of course, it couldn't be much dryer so I'm thinking it will be going on for a while. They did evacuate a lot of people around what they are saying is a 100 acre fire.

100 degrees. Evacuate. Not words I'd like to hear.
