Getting old
Jan. 3rd, 2023 14:50I was watching the Monday night football game last night when a slice of humanity broke out. It was interesting to watch in real time and interesting to read Twitter and Reddit as it was going on.
There were three professional commentators (as in people who have a degree and experience in communication) and three football players who were on the spot as communicators. I think they did well. It was the most dead air I've ever heard on TV. It did leave me wishing for Vin Scully or Howard Cosell or one of that ilk and experience. But Joe Buck has a lot of time in battery and had nothing. Nor did any of the rest. To their credit none of them blathered on. It was amazing that the NFL did not have any interaction with the people who pay their salary (aka - me). They were woefully unprepared.
Curious night.
I've found myself adjusting to being in pain all the time now. I waffle from 3 or so to 7 according to the scales I've been able to find. I'm pretty sure I've done something structural and hope to find out tomorrow. But I think it will get better. It has levelled off now and no longer improves nor does it get much worse. My apologies to those people about whom I scoffed. If this is the norm, I can see how opioids are so popular.
This is not going to get worse and will slowly get better. I'm hoping PT advice will help speed things on. The dogs need me to be in better shape so I can walk. Right now I'm constrained to sort of limping along and no one, other than Joey, is happy with that. I pretty much move at his pace so he doesn't know or care.
I've never been much of a fan of small dogs but there are a bunch of pretty happy ones at the Ranch. This is Lionel (Richey, Hampton or the train set, I don't know).

He's pretty cool for a Pomeranian and has no desire for me to walk around at all. Just sitting still makes him happy.
