Doing my taxes
Jan. 2nd, 2023 15:19And, I'm off. I really don't mind preparing my taxes. It is a bit of geekdom left over from when I did my business Quickbooks, which I also liked.
I checked again this year and it appears that TurboTax still has the best deal for me. Followed by Creditkarma, which is Turbotax. They are both Intuit. I'll likely run the taxes in Turbotax and then try to find another service that gets the same answer and costs less and is not Intuit.
This year is pretty easy and is looking like it will be pretty cheap too. I was collecting my deductions (including the $.14/mile I get for each of the 21.9 miles to and from the Dog Ranch = about $527) when I found out that they increased the standard deduction enough I'll likely not meet it even with mortgage, dental work, and mileage to/from the Ranch. Which is fine. I keep trying but never seem to do it.
Makes my return practically a phone in and my taxes negligible since they also changed the brackets to include Dana and me in a lower one.
Good news all around.
My back is still an issue. I had another massage today. Not as good as last week. Different MT and she was not as good. Kind of mailing in the job which is never a good deal with massages. I'll likely go back to that same place IF I can choose my MT. They don't give you the names (actually calling them Therapist A, B and C) but must have recorded it. I liked therapist B much better than therapist A.
But I can tell a difference and will likely be able to tell even more tomorrow. Wednesday is my doctor's appointment so we'll know more from there. Likely a PT referral. Maybe stronger drugs. But I don't think they can do much else. It would be a treat if I got massages through Medicare but they are not that progressive.
I've got Dog Ranch tomorrow but will take it very easy. Maybe just the calm dogs.
