Exhausting but we got through
Jan. 5th, 2023 15:21I had the dogs today. Which meant that I walked Zoe for about a mile and a half and then went out and walked dogs. Fortunately the other walking people know I'm a little slow now so they let me have the enclosure where I can let the dogs off their leash and not walk I did that for every dog so my walking was less and they still had their opportunity to mark EVERYTHING.
At that I still walked 3.5 miles according to Google Fit. Then came home, took Tylenol and Baclofen and a nap. My back hurts some but not nearly as much as it probably should. I've got a massage scheduled for tomorrow which is not soon enough for me.
In retrospect I probably should have gone for much gentler massages than I did. Less aggressive. But they worked. And tomorrow is a therapist who uses Hawaiian massage called Lomi Lomi. It is easy, gentle and mesmerizing. Total relaxation. I buy several of her annual 20% off certificates that she offers in December so I've used her a lot. It will help.
Relaxing the muscles that have been tensing with the pain surrounding the vertebra is what I need.
But, all things considered, I'm doing well. Next Thursday I begin physical therapy and the road back and beyond where I was.
Meanwhile, back at the Ranch:
Tommy had a skin condition so they shaved him. A shaved husky in January is sad:
Before:

Tommy is the one on top.
And after:

I suspect the other dogs snicker when he goes by but I never catch them doing it. And Shadow still loves him. And, of course, I do.
