Dog day Report
Jun. 27th, 2023 12:33We had four volunteer walkers today so it was an easy day. I could spend more time with each dog.
The first dog I walk nearly every day is Billy. He has a personality about the same as mine so we get on well. He could care less about snuggling up to me and only tolerates my nuzzling. But he knows I'll let him run around and mark everything that doesn't move. He's OK with that. I'm convinced he recognizes me and understands the drill.

He's just a cranky, furry old man. As I said, pretty much like me.
I'm nearly always the one to walk Shadow too:. Someone was nice enough to refill water pools. Shadow liked getting her paws cooled:

And then there is Khaleesi. The love of my life (after Zoe and Toby, of course). She still has problems with her ACL so I can't wrestle with her or play tug of war or walk very far with her. But we go sit under a tree and talk.
Today she was attacked by a vicious stick:

And just has to stand there to look beautiful.

I think she's happy there and gets attention not only from me but from lots of people every day. The same can be said of all the dogs but maybe Billy and he does not care.
The space where they live has excellent air conditioning and the Ranch recently added mesh cloth overhangs so the dogs can go out and still be in the shade. It is also located in a very windy area so even when it is hot there seems to always be a strong breeze that makes it tolerable.
