I received an automated call last night from our utility district saying that we are no longer allowed to water other than hand held watering.  It sounded like it might be a temporary conservation phase but the grass will not be happy.

Of course, I was returning from walking the dogs this morning to a neighbor not only watering their lawn but way over watering it.  The excess was running down the street to the storm drain.

Going to be an interesting couple of months.

I played pickleball again this morning.  My Fitbit said I was in fine form to play today but my body disagree.  I felt tired and sore and I still do  Tomorrow is an off day.  Walking the dogs only.  Then sitting around in the house staying out of the heat.

I think I'd do better if I didn't get a notice several times a day that I will die if I go outside.  Part of the problem is I've got NOAA on my phone and it is sending alerts.  I've also got Google weather, of course, and it is sending alerts.  And my local government is sending alerts.  I hate to turn it all off.  We'll have tornado season around here one day and I might like having an alert but the day after day after day of the same alert is pointless and, apparently, getting to me.

At least it is actually a summer month, mid July, now so it will end one day.

My Nest thermostat isn't really helping.  I had it Auto-learn my schedule.  Since we're home most of the time there is seldom a reason to change the temp and since there are two of us having it key to my comings and goings is not useful.  I've found that it keeps changing the AC temp so that it is warmer in the house.  When Zoe is panting and we're both hot it is not working right.  I came home the other day and the house temp was 80 degrees.  It took the rest of the day to get it back down to 76.

There will be a lot more people dying if the power grid fails than what happened a couple of years ago in the winter.

This is caused by climate change.  Weirdly enough it is the wind farms, created as a result of a few people who were trying to prevent the warming, that are keeping us going.  Without the wind farms we would be down right now.
