Beautiful day for dogs today
Jan. 11th, 2024 14:10Here is the entrance to the Ranch:

I'm being lead by Texas (left) and Bandit.
Once through the gates you can see all the buildings. I really need to do it again as a panorama shot:

The big building on the right is where all the small and medium dogs are. The one to the left of that is for the big dogs. And to the left of them is a storage and water shed, vet office and grooming building.
All the dogs were in an excellent mood today and we got lots of walking in. Fortunate as only the huskies and pyrenees will be happy with the rest of the week:

This is Kota. He's a sweetheart and will be among the happy ones when it really gets cold.

And, Kota checking to see if I have any breakfast left in my beard.

I've finally decided that my knee is not going to get better on its own. And I'm not sure it is the pickleball or walking. We'll see. I repeatedly called the ortho practice that did hip, knee and shoulder but could never even get through to their scheduling. So I went to my normal med practice, Baylor, Scott and White and got a look/see appointment next Wednesday. Nothing nice will come of it, I suspect. What could happen: Everything looks fine, here's a PT referral. We see something wrong and need to fixit (AKA surgery). We need to replace the knee. You just need a brace. Here is the fitting room. Not sure what else. None of it fun.
But I hate getting in and out of the car. Hate standing up from a chair. It effects my life more than the knee did before the replacement. So I have to do something.
Fortunately, walking and pickleball (either of which could be contributing) don't bother me when I'm doing them. I do feel a little less stable sometimes when playing pb than I'd like but I'm no worse than most of the players I play with. Most of us are old and pinned together.
I do feel better for having some kind of forward movement, something proactive, regardless of the outcome.
Other than that, I'm dreading the coming cold front and generally have a bad attitude about it.
