I was able to sneak into the pool area this morning and observe the training for the next Olympics in this sport. The rules are complex:
1 - If the ball comes to you hit it. Over the net or not. Entirely up to you. No judgement.

Well, I'm not sure there is another rule. The poster from the 70's "All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten" pretty much covers the rest.
The event is an exercise in social joy.
My sister is the one that just mercilessly spiked the ball. In green at the bottom. There is video for later, proof of her athletic prowess.
The cult is lovely. I think it actually stopped raining this morning and there are reports of sunshine in a day or two. It is wonderful weather for me. I'll be returning to what will be the front end of a drought that will last until fall. So I'm soaking in all the rain I can.
I've about found my way around the building. Because it is built on the side of a hill the all the floors don't go all the way through as they would in a straight, square building. And, of course, everything looks the same. The only difference in the hallways is the displays outside of resident doors. I've got a few reference points and have managed to find my room and my sister's room and the front desk and the pool. Not without some work, though. Not all the elevators go to all the floors.
The guest room is, actually, a fully furnished resident apartment, way bigger than I need but really nice.
I've not met many of the residents yet. Just in passing. We keep looking for Myrna but I think she's avoiding me. Time for me to find some more coffee.
