Catching up on sleep?
Apr. 16th, 2024 12:37I can't imagine why but yesterday as I was meeting with a couple of my friends for lunch I was kind of off. Not enjoying it as much as I should. I then went down to Austin to pick up the knives I was getting sharpened and was really sleepy while driving. After getting back to the house I hit the bed and slept an hour and a half. Sleep of the dead. I obviously needed it and I still had a good night's sleep last night. I fell like I'm still catching up from the travel two weeks ago.
Just checked my watch and I had over 8k steps so far today and I was feeling it walking the dogs. But I feel pretty rested now after sitting for an hour and a half. Still could take a nap and I might yet.
The 'Ranch Boss' asked me to walk a dog today. VERY unusual for her to request. She just lets me do my thing. But she wanted me to walk Faith. I'd never done so before so I went by after they'd eaten to see what would happen. I was immediately attacked in a good way. He came up and started licking my face. He's a cattle dog mutt:

A stray they picked up and, for some reason named Faith. The whole Ranch is a religion based entity. Christian music playing all the time and religious symbols everywhere. So Faith it is. He's like a dog named Sue.
Turns out he likes men. The opposite of most dogs. Most dogs are either sex neutral or hate men. Most of them hate men for an understandable reason. I never assume. Faith is a man's dog. He is really cute and if I were younger I'd take him home and train him. He's way too smart to be at the sanctuary but someone threw him out or lost track of him. So he's home and happy. We had fun. He's a ball chaser so he's pretty easy to exercise. And, of course, with his breed he needs the exercise.
Lovely weather today. No rain and they had cut the grass so the play areas were nice. And it was cool.
Came back home and took our two for a walk. Now time for a shower and a lie down for a bit with an ice pack.
