Last night Zoe was doing her usual wandering around panting thing. It is age related for the most part. She gets anxious and can't figure out what she wants to do. In the past I've taken her for a night walk but of course I can't do that now. So I was scratching under her ears when she yelped. Right ear. Again. I gave her some doggy aspirin and called the vet. We have an appointment for 10 this morning. I'm guessing another round of antibiotic ear drops. Poor baby.

I finally earned the $200 in Prolific and CloudResearch so I can buy my next tranche of Crypto. Of course I've lost 7.5% since I bought on 24 May ($15.10). I bought after a run up that I didn't really know about. Not that it would have mattered. I'm waiting for the Prolific money to hit my savings account which is where I fund the crypto and then I'll buy the next $199 batch.

My feeling is that in five years it will look like a genius move if I keep plugging away at the research stuff and putting a couple of hundred down every month.

It has not kept me from putting money in the 4.3% that is my short term money buffer.

I've got a new goal for the savings, October 2025 my son gets married. Second marriage and the new fiancé wants a big wedding and is a planner. So I've got a year to segregate savings for that. The crypto would also be a buffer if I end up needing funds for that too.

It is nice to have no money on any credit cards. Makes life so much less depressing.

Trip to the vet cost $4 less than I was planning to put into Crypto. I could absorb it with savings but I think I'll just focus on Prolific and Cloud and see if I can earn it back in the next week (not that I'm doing anything else). I'll feel better if the Crypto purchase is really not encumbering any day to day stuff.

Meanwhile, the answer was that her ear infection is all gone. Likely the yelp last night was from her just being sensitive as a result of allergies. She's on allergy meds (stuff called Appoquel) that we've had at a low dose for years and it has worked. But this is a season now and the doc said to double it up for a couple of weeks. The stuff is not cheap so we'll have to balance that. Toby is on it too. And both are on Zyrtec.

Texas dogs.

Zoe also has a growth on her back, a new one, that is being tested for melanoma. Fingers crossed it is a nothing.
