I continue to make progress with the pain in my hip. I can walk around and use the cane only on occasion for stability trying to get the weight back on my left leg. Limping is still my mode. I'll be spending the next four or five months getting rid of the limp before it starts to effect the rest of me. I'm not taking as many hydrocodone so that's good. I've got enough left that I can take one if I want and not worry. I didn't take anything for about 10 hours from last night until this morning. Around 8AM my hip said enough so I took one and lay back down. I've been doing lots of small things around the house and am ready to lie back down now. Rest everything. Watch some Wimbledon.
Dana has her own hip problem and, unlike mine, can't be fixed with surgery only with pain management and PT. And an occasional radio frequency ablation (kill the nerve). It is kind of like having sciatica. She's not an exerciser but had a PT person convince her that pedaling will help her, which it will. We're getting one of those floor peddlers that she can easily use around the house. It is a pretty nice one that, obviously, I can use too. I'll be able to ride my bike soon enough and she can't do that so it is more for her. We'll keep it really clean for the return window month. My fingers are crossed.
And I'm sitting in a straight backed chair at my desk which has a very hard seat is is near perfect as I can get. I'm able to sit at my desk with my left hip kind of hanging off the side so there's no pressure. It is not perfect but it is doable. I can write dreamwidth entries and do other work that I need to do. Big improvement.
End of July brings our IRS quarterly payment. I've not frequently done that but got hit with $130 penalty last year so I'm doing it now. We'll likely get a small refund now which is fine. I've got it calculated pretty well. It is so nice to be able to plan ahead and pay and not kill the finances. I was able to wait for our Paypal interest, which turned out to be $15 this month, before taking money out to cover the payment.
OK, time for Wimbledon.
