We went to see the bone cruncher today.  He was pleased with his work and took off the outer bandage.  There are no external stiches.  The skin is glued together and covered with steri-strips.  They will fall off over time.

I asked for physical therapy.  He said no in the way that docs say no.  He said it wasn't needed with the type of surgery he did, my age, my physical condition.  He said just to walk and do standing hip abductions to exercise the gluteus muscle.  I asked about riding a bike and he said whenever I felt like I wanted to but I might want to start on a stationary bike.  We have one in our exercise room so I'll likely try it.

Basically, if it doesn't hurt me too much and if it isn't physically dangerous I can do it.  See you in a month.

I stopped taking pain pills two days ago and my stomach is just beginning to be happy again.  I've had kind of a low level nausea since the surgery due, I think, to the hydrocodone.  Since I'm fairly comfortable without it and getting more so every day, I stopped taking it.

Now I walk around the house without my cane and work on not limping.  The limp is now just from the muscle healing.  The type of surgery he did was different from what I had done on my right and is supposed to end up with a better result as it cuts through fewer muscles.  It is getting much better every day and is annoying only when I sit or try to sleep on my side.  Both of those are slowly getting better.

SO, all good news.
