Windy dog day
Dec. 31st, 2024 12:02One thing about the Ranch is that it is all outside stuff. I'm the mailman in rain, or sleet, or whatever. On the bright side the medical types say it is good for me. But today it was chilly and very windy with air full of cedar and dust. So I pretty much feel like crap. The wind is exhausting and the air makes me feel like I've got a cold.
It was a lovely sunny day but for that. This is the weird time for Texas. It is the best temps but the worst allergy time. Very annoying.

Paisley has adapted so well to the new digs. She is calm and quiet in her compartment and ready to run around when she gets out. She's kind of the perfect Ranch dog and will likely live a long happy life. Her fur is so photogenic in the morning sun. She and I played and chased and generally had a good time.
The Ranch is acquiring new dogs as I knew they would. The four puppies are headed out. Two already gone, two will be gone soon to a different non-profit that is set up to get them adopted out. Paisley and another new one, Henry, are home and happy. I think all of the dogs we work with are happy to be there and get plenty of attention in a safe and clean home.
Meanwhile, I'm ready for a nap.
Dana's cough had mostly gone away but is back. Cedar and dust. When she's asleep she is on her CPAP with a filter so she's not coughing but soon as she wakes up she is coughing all the time unless she's had a bunch of suppressant. This has gone on since the 15th of November so it is really getting old. She does not meet with her allergist again until the 23rd. There is not much we can do about it. She's just napping a lot.
